I’m so excited to bring you this post because finally, after a too-long consideration, I decided to jump into the bandwagon and joining this readathon! If you know me, I suck at readathon. There I admit it. I’m always super pumped when I’m planning my TBR and all, but that energy seems to vanish when it comes to actually do the readathon. However, I’d like to try again this time because I’m just so impressed with the preparation and setup of this event! If you’re interested to find out more details about this readathon, all of the information can be found below.

About The Reading Rush2019 Reading Challenges

I’m trying to be hopeful yet realistic for this readathon because I’m completely aware that I’m such a mood reader. These four books are the ones that I picked to complete the given challenges:

purple on the cover & non-human main character

I decided to go with Wicked Fox by Kat Cho for these challenges. I received the ARC a while ago and I’ve been planning to finish it within this month. I’ll also read it as a part of the Year of the Asian Reading Challenge 2019.

read in the same spot the entire time

Obviously, I’ll go with a shorter book for this particular challenge. I decided to pick up Mooncakes by Suzanne Walker because I also received the ARC a while ago and I’m just so excited when I saw all of the lovely, warm, witchy vibes from this graphic novel!

author’s first book & five or more words in the title

Me, reading a book, just a week after I bought it? Wild concept. But here we are! I picked up Children of Blood and Bone by Tomi Adeyemi last week for my birthday and it’s really a coincidence that it’s a perfect match for these two challenges!

meant to read last year & read a book and watch the adaptation

Honestly, I’ve been putting off this book for too long now considering the number of times I’ve been watching the movies! The Devil Wears Prada was absolutely one of my all-time favorite movies and I think these two challenges are perfect to push me to finally read the book!

And there you have it! Honestly, I think I’ll do a decent job with this readathon (eh, hopefully?). I haven’t really decided for the other three titles that I’ll pick up to complete the “7 books” bonus challenge, so we’ll see about that later. Also, if you’re joining this readathon, feel free to add me on The Reading Rush site so we can connect and discuss there!

are you joining this readathon too? if so, what’s on your tbr?

  1. The Devil Wears Prada book is sooo different from the movie! I don’t think i was able to finish it just because I was so confused with everything. Best of luck with your readathon, Vinny!!!

      1. lol, very late response, But I’m okay. i really missed our chats and maybe soon we’ll have to chat again more often to plan our book club, that is if you still want to do it. Personally i still want to continue Diverse Divers. But this time I want it to be really planned months before we start it again.

        1. That’s good! I missed out chat too. And I’m still unsure whether I can manage the book club anytime soon because I have quite a lot on my plate at the moment. But I’d love to discuss more about it!

          1. I understand. Adulting sucks. hehe. But kidding aside, I personally love being adult. It’s very fulfilling to manage my own life though it’s hard.

And don’t worry about our book club. I’m thinking to do it again by January so there’s still plenty of time to plan but if you’re still busy then, it’s fine too. Since my job is just writing, I have more time to spare especially that I’m almost done editing the first draft of my first novel. 🙂

  2. good luck!! you got a great tbr here, can’t wait to hear your thoughts on children of blood and bone & wicked fox, there’s so much hype for both of them

    1. Thank you, May! I may shift things a bit to complete the whole challenge, but I’m eager to finish COBAB before the sequel comes out at the end of this year!

ps: I finished Wicked Fox and it was so freaking good!

  3. Ahh best of luck for the readathon! I’ve read and really liked Wicked Fox, such a great read. I hope you’ll love it 😀
    Happy reading! 🙂

  4. Good luck! I completely forgot about the reading rush until mid-week. Oh dear, at least I’ll be hyper-aware if dates next year because it seems like a lot of fun!

    1. Thanks, Kitty! You should totally join it next year! (I know I will!) It was really fun especially with all the badges and forum to discuss with others. 🙂
