Happy New Year! It’s the first day of 2019 and I couldn’t be more excited to back to blogging again! I was not particularly taking a break, but I couldn’t say I was very active too. But that’s going to change this year! (eh… hopefully?) So, today I want to share some of the goals and challenges that I set for myself to do this year, both for books and movies! Some could be a bit ambitious, but I’m hopeful since I’ll graduate from college next month and afterwards I’ll have more free time to complete my goals. ✌
*.·:·.☽✧ BOOKS ✧☾.·:·.*
This year, I’m aiming to read 52 books, which means I’m going to read one book each week. It couldn’t be that hard, right? Not to mention I’ll having more free time this year too. I’m also joining a few reading challenges to motivate myself because
I’m competitive I think it would be fun to do it with others! 😜
- Challenge #1: Goodreads Challenge (52 books)
- Challenge #2: Beat the Backlist 2019 (10 books)
- Challenge #3: PopSugar Reading Challenge 2019 (40 books)
- Challenge #4: #PotterheadReadAlong2019 (7 books)
I also started a book club this year with the lovely Lili @ Lili’s Blissful Pages called Diverse Divers! Our goal is to read one diverse book each month, so hopefully we could be consistent with our initial planning and wrap up 2019 by reading 12 diverse books! If you also want to read more diverse books this year and looking for some friends (and fun!), you can join our Goodreads’ group!
*.·:·.☽✧ MOVIES ✧☾.·:·.*
In 2016, I watched 66 movies. In 2017, I watched 100 movies. And in 2018, I watched around 200 movies (it’s not final yet since I haven’t submit all of the movies that I watched in the last couple days of 2018 on my Letterboxd). So, I’m pretty confident of setting a goal for myself to watch 250 movies this year. Also, my other goal is to do more exploration in movies that I’ll watch, both from its genres and eras. And of course, I’m also doing a few movie challenges to calm the narcissistic side of myself. 💁♀️
- Challenge #1: 52 Years in 52 Weeks (52 movies)
- Challenge #2: Film School Drop Outs 2019 (52 movies)
- Challenge #3: Birth Year Challenge — 1995 (growing list)
What is your goal for this year? Are you doing any challenges?
