October Horror Challenge #2: Favorite Era

Blogtober

Welcome to the Blogtober series! It’s my first time to join this exciting event since it’s also my first year after deciding to blogging again. For this year, I decided to do a whole month of challenge which created by Lucy @ Lucy Goes to Hollywood. I found out about this challenge on her Twitter#LGTHOctoberChallenge is a horror movie challenge that created by Lucy @ Lucy Goes to Hollywood that runs for the entire October. The prompt for Day 2 is favorite horror movie era. Here’s mine!

The 2000s is definitely my most favorite era of horror. Being a mid 1990s born, it’s what I’m familiar with. I grew up by actually watching horror movies from this era. I watched quite a few of them, mostly the shitty ones. But it’s still scare for me back then. Not to mention the amount of Asian horror movies that haunted me because it’s just too much to handle and lil old me will have a nightmare because of it. However, I watched more of horror movies from this era once I grew up and started to understand it a bit better, rather than just watching it for the sake of getting cheap jump scare. A few of my favorites from this era including:

My next favorite is obviously the 2010s era. The plot made more sense (I’m a sucker of modernity, boo!), the graphic was crazily better (thanks, technology), and most of the actors are still alive, which is great, if you asked me, lol. Honorable mention based on yearly released goes to

  • A Quiet Place (2018)
  • Get Out (2017)
  • Raw (2016)
  • Green Room (2015)
  • It Follows (2014)
  • World War Z (2013)
  • The Woman in Black (2012)
  • – (2011)
  • Insidious (2010)

If you want to join the challenge, here‘s the prompt that Lucy made for the whole month of October.

What about you? What is your most favorite era and why?
